We are excited to announce the PCSDA will be hosting the winter final on March 8, 2026. Join us for practice sessions in the morning followed by a sanctioned trail for the afternoon. This event kicks off the PCSDA’s Winter Series for 2025/2026. Come to practice, trail or simply to visit and take part in this community event.
Winter Series
We have 3 dates that were booked for winter stock dog events at the Lakota Agriplex in Dawson Creek, BC. Mornings will consist of some practice slots followed by a BCSDA sanctioned trial in the afternoon. Trial points will be accumulative for the series with awards being given following the last trial on March 8th, 2026.

Practice Sessions
9am - 12pm
Choose from coached or uncoached sessions where you can work with your dog on sheep in the arena. Work through obstacles, develop certain skills or simply get time with you and your dog working together on stock. These sessions are open to both beginner and experienced handlers, are typically 15 mins and participants must be PCSDA members.
Cost: $30
Entries: Sign-up for Sunday March 8 OPENS Monday March 2 (9-10am)
(first come first served - link will be emailed to members and posted to Facebook group Monday morning)
Trial
1pm - 4pm
Handlers Meeting: 12:45pm, trial to follow
Sanctioned: BC Stock Dog Association (Waiver must be signed)
Stock: Sheep (hair sheep provided by the Bartels & Giesbrecht families)
Classes: Open, Nursery, Novice for x2 runs in that order
(Cross entries for Nursery are allowed)
*The Peace Country SDA will include a winter series end award for nursery class, however the BCSDA does not recognize or give year end points for this class (something to be aware of when making your entries)
Trial Placing: Aggregate placings are awarded (both runs are combined)
Cost: PCSDA Members $30/dog (includes sanctioning/payout money),
Non-Members $75/dog (rates are per dog per class for 2 runs)

Winter Series Awards
Trial participants from the winter series have been collecting series points based on their placings. High point series awards will be given following the trial on the afternoon of Sunday March 8, 2026. We will have a brief coffee break after the last run for preparation, awards will be given for:
Open, Nursery and Novice classes 1st and runner up.
Concession & 4H
Cash concession will be available again by the Young Hearts & Strong Hooves local 4H club where they will be fundraising for their programs. We will also be welcoming the Groundbirch 4H Club for a stock dog demonstration and Q&A between practice and trial. They are excited to learn from our wonderful members and watch what a handy stock dog can do for us on our farms and ranches.
Spectators welcome to audit practices and watch the trial.
